Access to external facilities
The free access of Students, Learners and Researchers to High-quality, world-class experimental facilities, for educational, training and R&D purposes, is a key paradigm for effective learning and innovation processes in the field of nuclear engineering.
INPE, BUET has activated collaboration with National Research Nuclear University, MEPhI, Moscow and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Russia. ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation, Moscow will be associated with INPE in education, training and developing professionals. Establishment of multilateral collaborations with other European, North American and regional institutes involved in nuclear energy education and research is in progress.
The faculties and associated laboratories of BUET would be utilized for education, research, training and professional services. INPE, BUET has collaboration with Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), Ministry of Science and Technology, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The TRIGA Mark-II Research Reactor, Tandem Accelerator and other facilities of BAEC may be explored for research and training. Moreover, INPE, BUET will get strategic support and technical cooperation in academic research and development from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as a member state.
Specific short courses, workshops, modular trainings, seminars etc. will be organized periodically. Postgraduate courses leading to Masters and Ph.D. programs are planned to be offered by INPE, BUET with the help of expert’s pool from home and abroad. Establishment of relevant laboratory facilities is under progress. Presently, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, of BUET is offering courses on Nuclear Engineering.
IAEA, Vienna provided PCTRAN (Personal Computer Transient Analyzer) simulation software to BUET for education, research and training. Students as well as faculty members are involved in research related to nuclear energy. A good number of research papers are presented in international conferences and published in well-cited journals.
